About this event
This month’s walk will lead us on a trail in Stony Creek.
Directions:
Drive to Stony Creek and go straight on Thimble Islands Road. Continue a mile or so and look for the second sign on the left for “Wallace Road” and turn in. (Wallace Road is a horseshoe shape, with both ends on Thimble Island Road.) The trail entrance is just a few yards ahead. If there’s no parking on Wallace Road, you can turn around and park on Thimble Islands Road.
This is not a level walk as it has some inclines and slightly rocky areas along a wooded trail in the woods. We’ll pass some old, small quarry areas and a native American midden. There will be lovely views of the marsh and the water so you may want to bring your camera and binoculars. After the walk there will be the option of having coffee or a cold drink at the Stony Creek Market. (There are no restrooms there, but we’ll be able to use the library a little further ahead).
What to bring: Please dress according to the weather, good sturdy shoes, walking sticks (if preferred), hat and water bottle.
