Become an Active Member

Active Members of the Shoreline Village can receive the kind of assistance that will allow them to remain in their homes. Many of our members live alone and no longer drive, so they are especially dependent on the Village's volunteers to provide free transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, fitness centers, and other destinations.

Members are free to participate in Village’s wide range of social and cultural programs and events. Ranging from a book club to opera talks to a walking group and chair yoga, these activities are designed to meet the diverse interests of our members.

A listing of the types of programs that are offered can be viewed on our Activities and Services page.

The Shoreline Village also partners with a number of community organizations. Active Members are eligible for discounts from the Village’s local partners and vetted service providers.

The annual fee for Active Members is $500 for an individual and $750 for a couple. Adjusted rates are available in situations of financial hardship.

Become a supporting member

Supporting Members are people who are not yet ready to become Active Members of the Shoreline Village, but who want to support the Village financially. They see the value of the Shoreline Village for their neighbors and they want the Village to be a robust organization at the point that they decide to become Active Members.

Supporting Members pay the same amount as Active Members ($500 for an individual and $750 for a couple), but the money comes to the Village as a tax-deductible charitable contribution, not a fee. Supporting Members are eligible for all the activities, events and discounts available to Active Members.

Interested in becoming a Supporting Member? Email - info@shorelinevillagect.org, or phone - 203-747-5939.

Become a Village volunteer

The generosity of our volunteers is critical to fulfilling the mission of the Village. This is an opportunity to provide crucial support that will allow seniors to live independently at home.

As a volunteer, you can determine how and when you’d like to help. Options include:

Providing Transportation - driving members to doctor's appointment, the grocery store, fitness center, or other destinations, as needed.
Helping with Simple Tasks - helping members by doing minor home repairs, changing a light bulb, assisting with simple computer or phone tasks.
Making Friendly Visits - visiting members and engaging in friendly conversation while playing card and board games or doing puzzles, or whatever you and the member decide.
Sharing Talents - providing interesting programs and activities for members or helping the Village with organizational tasks.
