A Fresh Look at the Sistine Ceiling
Michelangelo’s scenes of Genesis on the Sistine Ceiling are some of the most acclaimed works of human artistic endeavor. Well known scholars have devoted numerous books and articles to the explication of both form and content, some portions having to be revised after the major restoration of 1980-1994. In the last twenty years there have been some interesting theories put forward about what Michelangelo may have hidden in the frescoes, including the figures of God and Adam. Come hear about the artist’s incredible inventions and some limits he may have needed to observe.

Marcie holds a Ph.D. in the History of Renaissance Art from Yale University, and has been an art educator in the Connecticut area for over 40 years.
