A practice to enhance your balance and posture while cultivating a sense of calm and well-being. The class will include both standing (with a chair for support) and seated movements as well as a final guided relaxation. No previous Tai Chi experience is required. Taught by Jennifer King, certified Tai Chi Easy Practice Leader, who has extensive training and experience in teaching older adults. A six-week session with classes scheduled every Wednesday at 11:00 through November 20. Students must attend all classes. Free for Village Members. Louis Comfort Tiffany is known for his company‘s exquisite glass lamps and vases. In his lifetime, 1848-1933, he designed many colored glass windows including several in the New Haven area, as well as glass mosaics and enameled desk sets.
Come hear an introduction to his unique art, whose forms emerged from his deep love of nature, and were also influenced by his travels and collecting of ancient glass.

The speaker, Marcie F. Slepian, holds an A.B. from Brown and a PH.D. from Yale in the History of Art. Her specialties are Renaissance Art and Art of the Early 20th Century.

Friday, October 18, 9:00am Meet at the end of Three Corners Road for the West Woods trail head. From Route 146 turn north on Sam Hill Road - drive about .7 of a mile -turn left on Three Corners Road - drive to the end. This will not be a difficult hike, but the trail has some moderate climbing and uneven footing. Wear proper hiking shoes and bring water.
